Biographical / Historical
The Spring Creek Bridge was originally known as the Romeo and Juliet Bridge. It is also known locally as Collier’s Promenade Bridge, a name that originated from newspaper articles written during its construction. It is located along Highway 97 in Collier Memorial State Park. It is a modern replica of the original bridge (built in the 1940s), which it replaced in 2005. The bridge is built for vehicles passing through the Park to cross the creek while pedestrians within the Park can cross underneath the bridge while following the Park’s trails.
