Biographical / Historical
The Klamath Yacht Club is located on the Front Street (on the shore of the Upper Klamath Lake) in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The building was constructed in 1949-1950 by W. Gene (Doc) Boggle. Interior was designed by the architects John Howard and Murdo Morrison. A number of the original members helped with the construction of the building. In 1950 there were 62 members in the Club. Membership was men only. However, the wives of the members helped with fundraising and other activities. For example, a committee which designed the burgee for the Club was chaired by Mrs. Orth Sisemore, with Mrs. Merle Swansen and Mrs. Hugh Currin as members.
