Content Description
A box of materials arranged in 3 folders. Donated by Bill Johnson, this collection is related to the local mills and timber industry in and around Klamath Falls from the end of 1960s to the beginning of 1980s. The collection consists mainly of newspaper articles, but also has correspondence and various publications. Information on the operations of the local mills is presented, as well as on the Klamath County land owners and log suppliers. An inventory list is included.

Biographical / Historical
Historically, timber formed the basis of Klamath County’s economy. Though it contributes to only a small part of the current economy, it still holds historical significance to the community. Logging was the first major industry in Klamath Falls, the county seat.
