Marie Owens Collection
Abstract
Marie Owens was born in 1926. She graduated from high school in California and eventually moved to Oregon. In 1978 she and her husband Bruce developed the Nob Hill Subdivision. Collection contains 2 copies of the 2007 book "Replat: The History of the Vacating and Replatting of the 1905 Subdivisions: Nob Hill, Eldorado Heights, Parts of Irvington Heights and Mountain View, 1966 to 1980".

Biographical / Historical
Marie Owens was born in 1926. She graduated from high school in California and eventually moved to Oregon with her husband, John Amuchastegui. Together they built the 58 Café and helped her parents build the Odell Lake Resort. Later they sold the café and moved to Klamath Falls. In 1960 Marie divorced John and married Bruce Owens. In 1978 she and Bruce developed the Nob Hill Subdivision. In 2007 Marie Owens wrote a book "Replat: The History of the Vacating and Replatting of the 1905 Subdivisions: Nob Hill, Eldorado Heights, Parts of Irvington Heights and Mountain View, 1966 to 1980"to commemorate this development. Marie Owens was a longtime member of the Assistance League of Klamath Basin, the Klamath Lutheran Church, and Soroptimist International, where she served as president in 1973. She was also a California Real Estate Broker and a member of the Klamath County Association of Realtors from 1969 to 2009. Marie Owens died at age 87 in 2014.
