Historical Note
Originally named the Geo-Heat Utilization Center, the center opened on Oregon Tech campus in 1975. The primary focus of the Center was to disseminate information and provide technical assistance to potential and existing users of geothermal resources, publish technical papers and a quarterly newsletter on the progress and development of direct-use geothermal energy in the U.S. and other countries, and undertake applied research. For a long time the Klamath Falls campus was the only institution in the world to be geothermally heated. The following joined later: The University of Iceland New Mexico State University and Idaho State University. The Geo-Heat Center closed in 2015.

Processing Information
Upon receiving this collection, all of the large ledgers (Book I, II, III) were contained in a large wooden box that had rusting nails and water damage. There was no evidence that Charles E. Worden constructed the box. There was no artifactual value of the ledger covers. Better preservation of these volumes consisted in separating the papers from each ledger binding and placing them into an archival box.
