Biographical / Historical

Jay A. Fairclo was born July 1st, 1895, in Yreka. He moved to Klamath County in the early 1900s, before serving in the Army during WWI. After the war, he returned to his family’s ranch to work with his father, H. G. Fairclo. Shortly after, he married Grace Irene Pattin, eventually having four children. Grace was born in 1895 and had met Jay when visiting from Kansas to see her aunt. Jay was a member of the Mt. Laki Community Church and served on the Agricultural Advisory Board of the Oregon Vocational School and the Mt. Laki School Board. Grace died in September 1965. Jay Fairclo passed away in 1978.
