Abstract

Materials about the Fairclo Family were donated by their oldest daughter Marjorie F. Brissenden. Content date range for this collection is: 1850-2009. Jay A. Fairclo was born July 1st, 1895, in Yreka. He moved to Klamath County in the early 1900s, before serving in the Army during WWI. He served in Mt.Laki Community Church and School Board. Grace was born in 1895 and had met Jay when visiting from Kansas to see her aunt.

Abstract

Jesse Douglas Carr was a California pioneer, politician, banker, stage contractor, prominent land owner and stock raiser. He was one of the largest and wealthiest land owners in California. Collection consists of copies of two plot maps, showing Jesse Carr's ranching activities in the California-Oregon border area and the property he bought from various persons in 1876, 1883, 1885, 1886, and 1887.

Abstract

The joint-stock Willamette Cattle Company was formed in 1837 by settlers and pioneers in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, to drive cattle from California. Collection contains a sheet of paper with a title: "Community Development in Oregon: The 1836 Kind" - a description of the delivery of the first 632 head of Mexican cattle to Oregon in 1836. On the reverse side: list of ranches in the alphabetical order by owner's last name, with the accompanying cattle brands for each ranch.
