Abstract

The years 1945-1946 saw several major historical events, both in and out of the Klamath Basin. Collection contains a scrapbook created and donated by Richard H. Dewey through Millie Lewis. The clippings cover the years 1945-1946 and 1951, and are about international and local events (e.g. rodeos in Klamath Basin, parade in Klamath Falls and new school buildings).

Abstract

Mitchell Monument in the Recreation Area in Lake County, Oregon, marks the site of the only casualties of the World War II on the American soil. Collection contains documents related to the Monument and the history of Japanese balloon bomb attacks in 1945, and the 75th anniversary of the event.
