Lost River: The Story Of the Modoc Indian War: An Outdoor Historical Drama
Modoc County Arts Council, Inc. and Modoc Performing Arts Theatre in Alturas, Modoc County, California, stage reenactments of the historical Lost River battle, one of the first conflicts that started the Modoc War (1872-1873). Collection contains 2 brochures and 5 color photographs advertising that performance.

Collection contains 2 copies of the 2007 book "Replat: The History of the Vacating and Replatting of the 1905 Subdivisions: Nob Hill, Eldorado Heights, Parts of Irvington Heights and Mountain View, 1966 to 1980".

Materials for Discussion of the 1942 Japanese Relocation
In 1942, shortly after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 with the intention of preventing espionage. The result was forced relocation and incarceration of 110,000 to 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry in the western part of the country. Collection contains a packet of 15 black and white cardboard photographs depicting the 1942 Relocation of the Japanese Americans.

Janis Kafton was a Klamath County educator and amateur historian. Laurence L. Shaw was a well-known Oregon timber man and philanthropist. Collection contains miscellaneous materials owned by or sent to: Laurence Shaw, Van Landrum and Janis Kafton.
